Instructions for Piano PVC-E Glue

Piano PVC-E Glue

Before applying make sure the surface is free of glue and dust, avoid the temptation to leave the old glue on and apply the new one, this looks unprofessional.

Excellent adhesive designed exclusively for applying glue to:

  • Wood to plastic (Piano Keytops)
  • Wood to metal
  • Felt to plastic
  • Felt to metal
  • Felt to a finished surface (painted or non-painted)
  • Leather to plastic
  • Leather to metal
  • Leather to a finished surface (painted or non-painted)
  • Porous material to a non-porous material
  • Pneumatic and bellows cloth as well as any other cloth

Wood to Wood not recommended (different glue will be needed)

Apply a thin bead of glue and spread using a Piano Glue Brushes (available in our store). make sure you have no air bubbles and you have a thin layer.  Wipe it all down with a damp cloth, wipe off excess glue right away, if you don’t do it right away it’s harder to get it off later.

To preserve the bristles of the Piano Glue Brush, after each use rinse with mild soap and warm water, dry with towel and then lay flat to finish drying.

For felt, cloth or leather let dry for a minimum of 4 - 12 hours to cure, for keytops the 12 hours are required, use piano key clamp or masking tape, for wood and final filing let dry a minimum of 24 hrs.

It is highly important that you work in areas where the temperature is between 60 – 85 degrees, anything below it will take more hours to cure. And if you are working in areas where the temperature is below 30 degrees that glue will be ruined (destroyed).

PVC-E Glue needs to be stored at room temperature.
